Star Trek casting buzz!! (And etc.)

Who will the next Uhura? Hmm…I don’t know. I’m just gonna cross my fingers and hope for the best.

And here’s the trailer for The Mist, from Stephen King. Warning, though, don’t look at it if you want to have any suspense about what the mist is, or what resides in it, because in its two and a half minute running time it gives away several things about the mist that would have been a hell of a lot more scary if we had not known what they were. In fact, in a synopsis, it says that the inhabitants of the town must battle against an evil they cannot even see. What? We can see it in the freakin trailer! Honestly, what is with idiotic advertising companies who insist on giving away half the plot in their trailers?

And here’s a neat little internet gem I discovered. It’s not without its flaws. 80% of the lines seem to be coming from sci-fi movies we’ve all seen before, it’s over dramatic, not personal enough, and too caught up in its own seriousness. Why am I recommending it, then? Sometimes it’s refreshing to see something like this online, something that’s not been caught up by the giant Hollywood advertisement machine. Anyways, I hope you enjoy it. It’s about 15 episodes in, so you’ll have time to catch up if you want to see all 130 episodes eventually.
